We are all tempted to compare ourselves to others and conclude that we are a "good person". Unfortunately God wants us not to look at others judgmentally, but rather compare ourselves to what Jesus was and that is perfect and sinless. When compared to what God wants us to be we are all failures. Luckily God can still use us as long as we seek Him and are willing to be used by Him. Some of the most incredible examples in the Bible were men that had committed terrible sins yet they asked forgiveness and were used by God to do great things. Paul is a great example. Our righteousness is as filthy rags compared to what God desires from us. Luckily God is willing to forgive us... if we ask!
