- I'm a second-generation Mexican American (Chicano), a native of Kansas City, born to the legacy of migration of farm workers to this region. I studied English at the University of Iowa, Stanford University, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. I have written and published three books. For many years I've worked as an adjunct lecturer in academe or a freelance writer/editor and I now seek a better life-path, one that will enable me to help others while flourishing as a creative person.
