2.0 Evangelist
Tell us about yourself
I first started working with web technology in 1994 as an early adopter of the now legendary Netscape (Mozilla) tool set. Through the 90's I financed my life as an part-time rock star by designing and developing websites and graphics for punk and grunge bands and restaurants. In 1997 I received an invitation to teach English at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, an adventure that lasted three wonderful years. While in Mexico I developed and implemented a 1st gen web portal system for restaurants and tourist destinations located in Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Mazatlan.

Upon my return to the states in early 2000 I continued to push the boundaries of online development for the Sprint University of Excellence creating multimedia applications for distance learning. During my tenure I became an evangelist for Flash through my work with first gen action-script applications and streaming video displayed via the Flash player. In 2003 I presented "Selling the Value of In-House Design" to the HOW Design conference to illustrate the power social design as a training tool. In 2004 I left Sprint and spent the next few years on the launch teams of start-ups or as a sales and process consultant. Over those 5 years I've spent thousands of hours researching trends and I now apply that accumulated knowledge to my role at Centriq Training.

As a 2.0 for Sales evangelist I train sales individuals and departments on how to improve productivity using social computing resources. I have an ongoing affair with emerging technologies, in particular those tools that give us the power to grow closer socially despite physical distance. My current obsession is desktop broadcasting and the new populous media. I hope to have a new book out in early 2010 that focuses on the next wave and the players that are building it.
