I am currently a contractor in web and application developer for TransPar Group. I am also a student at Centriq Training pursuing my certifications in Master’s Certification in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Certified Expert in CS2 Photoshop, Adobe Certified Associate in CS3 Dreamweaver and Flash, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and Microsoft Certified Professional in C#, .NET, .ASP, .ADO, FRDD and SQL, A+ Essentials Certification, A+Technician Certification and Network+ Certification.
Tell us about yourself
I am a native New Yorker whose career was in the Accounting Field, processing and handling Payroll and Billing. In addition I was working part-time as an extra in movie projects.

I decided to relocate to Kansas City where I continued my career in the Accounting Field in the Railroad Transportation Industry for Milepost Transportation, LLC. After processing payroll and billing for more than 10 years, I felt that the work became redundant and wanted the opportunity to learn new things.

I decided to teach myself advance Microsoft Excel and was able to create a massive spreadsheet that ultimately laid-off 30 off-site assistant managers and hired 15 accounting clerks. This led me to the position of Payroll and Billing Manager.

During my two year tenure as a Payroll and Billing Manager I decided to teach myself Microsoft Access, SQL and VBA. I took the initiative to convert the Excel spreadsheets into Access and link it to the dispatch system, further automating the total process. This conversion led to the lay-off of 13 accounting clerks.

Given the payment terms we enjoyed, in some cases it was possible for us to bill and receive payment prior to issuing payroll. This automation dropped the number of employees to one including myself.

Due to the success of the company and the automation we created, the company was sold in 2005 to its largest competitor and I was invited to join the owner of Milepost to another company he co-owned, TransPar Group, Inc.

TransPar Group provides consulting and management services to school districts’ transportation departments.

In my three years with TransPar, I have automated various consulting techniques, streamlined their management system and developed a number of applications currently being utilized in the Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, Pocono Mountain, PA, Penn-Harris, IN, Oklahoma City, OK and Moreno Valley, CA School Districts.

I am currently a contractor for TransPar Group and have been given the opportunity to pursue and obtain additional training and certifications for the type of career I have taught myself over the years.
