Steve Luptak: Patient Advocate
I have over 35-years management experience in benefits, health insurance, managed care, healthcare delivery and financing. My experience includes senior positions with insurers, physician/hospital joint ventures, two of the world’s largest benefit consulting firms (Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt), as well as my own consultancy.

Mys goal is to provide to individual patients the same expertise and service that I provided to employers (Volvo, Bank of America, Wachovia, Glaxo Smith Kline, the States of Kansas and Arkansas), state insurance commissioners (Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas), insurance companies (various Blue Cross plans, United HealthCare, CIGNA), and hospital systems (HCA, Tenet, Catholic Health Partners). This experience has given me unique insights into the problems of managed care from my representation of all parties in the financing/funding of healthcare. I started Healthcare Advocacy to level the playing field for the consumer.

Throughout my life, I have worked for healthcare that is accessible, affordable, and high quality for all. I know all too well that cost can be an insurmountable barrier to care. After 35- years in managed care, I want to use my experience to help the patient.
